Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
When you submit our contact form, request a quote, or use our free FDA/import checker tools, we collect what you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, company name, country of origin, product details, and any message you write. This information is submitted through our form provider, Formspree, and delivered to our team by email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we use analytics tools that automatically collect some information when you browse our site:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — collects usage data such as pages viewed, time on site, general device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.
- Google Ads conversion tracking — if you arrive at our site from a Google Ad, Google may set a cookie so we can measure whether that visit led to a form submission. We use this only in aggregate to understand which ads are effective — we do not use it to identify you personally.
We do not use this automatically collected data to build a profile that identifies you as an individual, and we do not sell it.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry and provide a quote or consultation
- To deliver the services you engage us for (FSVP plans, FDA registration, US Agent services, business formation, and related compliance work)
- To send you information you've requested, such as a downloadable guide or checklist
- To understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, including Google Ads campaigns
- To meet our own legal, accounting, and record-keeping obligations
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the site and deliver our services:
- Formspree — processes and delivers contact form submissions to us
- Google (Analytics & Ads) — processes anonymized/aggregated usage and conversion data as described above
- Netlify — our website hosting provider
- Licensed US customs brokers — only if you engage us for services requiring customs coordination, and only with your knowledge as part of that engagement
We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Note on our free tools: The Import Checker and FDA Supplier Checker tools on this site ask for basic product and contact details to generate a preliminary assessment. That information is used the same way as a contact form submission — to respond to you and, if you provide an email, to follow up.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies set by Google Analytics and, where applicable, Google Ads. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's browser opt-out tool. Blocking cookies may affect some site functionality but will not prevent you from contacting us or reading our content.
Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions and client engagement records for as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our own legal and accounting obligations — generally no longer than 7 years after our last contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law or by an active engagement. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Your Rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights over the personal information we hold about you. In general, we will honor requests to:
| Right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Access | Ask what personal information we hold about you |
| Correction | Ask us to correct inaccurate information |
| Deletion | Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it |
| Opt-out | Ask us to stop using your information for marketing or analytics |
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@clearpathcomplianceco.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Children's Privacy
Our site and services are intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16 years of age.
International Visitors
We work with food exporters and importers around the world, including in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Canada. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our team and service providers are based.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our practices or the tools we use change. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
